**About the Opportunity**:
**A Day in the Life of a BCCFA Autism Navigator**:

- Manage program referrals, intakes, case management, and discharge of clients, including relevant administrative tasks
- Provide psychosocial supports to families of autistic children or youth as they go through the autism assessment process, both virtually and in-person, including, but not limited to: providing information and psycho-education about autism and the autism system of care, system navigation support, and providing supportive listening and solution-focused brief counselling interventions
- Provide accompaniment to in-person appointments related to autism assessment
- Answer one-off resource calls, support families to connect to appropriate services
- Create and run group opportunities for parents and caregivers, in collaboration with other BCCFA staff
- Collaborate and build relationships with autism assessment clinics (public and private)
- Maintain up to date records that meet agency and regulatory body requirements
- Participate in staff meetings, case reviews, medical liaison meetings, and in-services
- Undertake additional responsibilities as directed

**Qualifications**

**Education, Training and Experience**:

- Degree in Social Work or Child and Youth Care
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in pediatrics &/or in a community program is preferred
- Experience supporting families to navigate autism system of care is an asset
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

- Competency using a virtual platform, electronic client record system and word processing software
