**Job Summary**:We are looking for an **Accounting Associate **to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the Sr. Analyst, Accounting, you will work with the finance team to process and review accounting, sales audit and other finance related activities

**What you will do in this role**:

- Download daily bank, credit card and gift card statements
- Reconcile bank statements and online credid card statements to store POS (Point-of Sale) collections
- Communicate with stores to resolve any collection discrepancies
- Clear cashed cheques in the system, reconcile bank accounts and various GL accounts
- Fulfill corporate and store gift card requests and provide support to store operations
- Process journal entries for the month-end and year-end closing
- Assist in various financial audit requests and assist reporting manager with various sales audit analysis and reconciliation
- AP functions such as preparing EFTs, posting invoices/preauthorization & conducting 3 way match
- Verifying AP expense reports, tracking all payments and track all outstanding invoices
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating a positive, respectful and service-oriented approach
- Effective organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently or as a team member
- Ability to handle conflicting priorities and meet deadlines

**Your experience and requirements include**:

- Diploma in Accounting
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles
- Experience in using ERP software (preferable with knowledge of Microsoft Dynamic NAV)
- Experience in cash reconciliation and journal entry processing
- Ability to understand relationship between transactions and journals entries
- Adaptive to using new systems, customer websites and data analytics
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of retail POS or previous experience working in retail an asset
- Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) as asset but not required
