**Role Summary**
As a senior member of the Myra Falls HR team, this role is responsible for managing daily operational HR Functions, including but not limited to, employee relations, succession & development, labour relations, disability management, medical accommodations and general employee welfare. Also provides strategic support and to the business on people related matters.
**Key outputs and accountabilities**
Safety, Health & Environment:
- Ensure compliance with statutory / legislative and Corporate requirements;
- Ensure fitness for work compliance throughout workforce; and
Function/ Production:
- Provide full operational support on ER/LR issues & systems.
- Establish ER/LR processes/systems to align with business requirements, policies & strategic plan
- Ensure the ER/LR services are efficiently and effectively delivered.
- Manage union related activities such as grievances, grievance meetings, arbitrations, collective bargaining agreements and involved in CBA negotiations
- Disability and accommodation management.
- Ensure Human Resource policies are established, maintained, communicated to internal customers and applied consistently.
- Conduct investigations, create summaries and recommendations consistent with policy and organizational expectations.
- Management of personnel corrective action records.
- Provide and ensure effective leadership, performance management, career development and succession planning of department personnel.
- Understand cost drivers and seek continuous improvement in all activities
- Act as HR Manager where required.
- All other duties as required.
Supervision (if applicable):
- Ensure HR & departmental practices support effective employee/labour relations.
**Key Dimensions (size, budget, additional KPI’s etc)**
- Compliance with Myra Falls and Trafigura policies and procedures.
- Implementation of agreed strategies.
- Delivery of agreed outcomes aligned with the overall business plan and values.
- Direct interfacing with all internal and external stakeholders.

- Effective communication between maintenance teams and operations team.
- Reporting / communication is transparent, verified and timely.
- Activities completed on time.
- All activity is performed within strictest ethical standards.
**Legislative Requirements**
- Comply with relevant Safe Work Method Statements, SWPs and other relevant Procedures and Standards at the mine.

**Qualifications**:
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/Industrial Relations, or Business Degree with HR Major/Minor, or degree in associated field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5-10 years extensive experience in general Human Resource functions
- 3 years’ labour relations experience in heavy industry with strong unionized environment
Desirable:
- Professional certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)
**Experience**:
- Strong organizational and conceptual planning and operational skills with ability to communicate vision to others
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and a “team-oriented” approach to the achievement of tasks
- Good communication skills (both written & verbal)
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Previous experience within similar capacity
- Experience in Mining or Heavy Industrial desirable
- Working knowledge of SAP highly desirable
