**Summary**:LINK 427 General Partnership is a joint venture responsible for designing, building, financing and operating/maintaining the 427 Expansion project.

This full-time permanent position involves summer and winter patrolling duties, Emergency Response & performing routine maintenance operations in accordance with the LINK 427 Project Agreement and Ministry of Transportation requirements.

**As a Lead hand, You Will**:

- Act as a point of contact for MTO Authorities and staff in emergencies
- Prioritize, organize and allocate tasks to Patrollers, Operators and Core staff
- Communicate with authorities on site and liaise with MTO central dispatch to ensure adequate resources are available to maintain public safety on the highways during adverse conditions
- Provide traffic control at the accident scene
- Respond to emergencies such as spills, accidents etc. and assist in implementing an emergency plan as needed
- Assist in identifying deficiencies by regular daily patrols of highways and notify the Foreperson as required
- Perform repairs to the highway and inspections as a lead member of the works crew
- Complete diary, daily electronic timesheets, and various paperwork
- Call out and monitor winter operations
- Conduct regular tailgate talks with the staff to review safe operating policies and practices
- Other duties as assigned

**What You'll Bring**:

- Valid DZ License with clean driver's abstract, required
- Ability to operate a variety of equipment
- Knowledge of OTM Book 7 traffic control, considered an asset
- Strong Interpersonal skills
- Basic computer knowledge
- Effective team player
- Willingness and flexibility to work assigned shifts based on business needs
- Ability to remain on call after hours/shift coverage - days/nights/weekends included
- Strong knowledge of highway maintenance considered an asset
- Winter operations and storm management experience considered an asset
- Ability to perform manual labour and lift 50 - 70 pounds
- Willingness to work and drive outside in inclement weather conditions

Work Location: In person
