Construction Manager

THIS IS A HANDS-ON ROLE. THE ABILITY TO OPERATE HEAVY MACHINERY AND CARRY OUT PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS IS MANDATORY.
Applicants should have at least 5 years construction industry experience and access to reliable transportation to and from shop or site, a clean driving abstract with a “G” and/or “A” restricted drivers license preferred.
Police Information checks will be conducted at the time of hire.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage a crew of 3 - 8 individuals
- Coordinating construction work according to priorities and plans
- Producing schedules and monitoring attendance of crew
- Allocating general and daily responsibilities
- Supervise and train workers and tradespeople
- Ensure manpower and resources are adequate
- Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
- Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
- Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget
- Resolve problems when they arise
- Report on progress to managers, engineers, etc.
- Lift heavy loads and navigate construction job site terrain
- Operate heavy machinery, including construction vehicles
Preferred Foreman/Supervisor skills:
- 5+ years’ construction industry experience preferred
- Extensive understanding of construction principles and procedures
- Proven experience as a construction Foreman/Supervisor
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OSH guidelines
- Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to communicate and report effectively
- Aptitude in math
- Problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working in a high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuation
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$38.00 per hour
