**Job Purpose**:
Reporting to the IT Manager, Infrastructure and Operations, the Systems Administrator will be responsible for installing and configuring hardware, software and operating systems in an enterprise level organization.

**Principal Responsibilities**:

- Troubleshoot issues with various server related hardware, software and operating systems
- Review alerts raised by monitoring system and perform analysis for remediation
- Ensure smooth operations of complex server backups and monitoring software
- Maintain successful deployments of software and patches to large number of systems by monitoring rollouts and acting to remediate failures
- Manage rollouts of software/security patches to many servers and workstations to ensure successful launches
- Perform investigations and research on unique issues in order to find solutions and work with different teams to install hardware and software changes.
- Ensure the infrastructure performance meets appropriate service levels and that maintenance is performed on an ongoing basis to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Build robust rollout schedules and deploy software to collections of systems
- Perform reviews of backup jobs and test consistency of backups
- Assist with computer system maintenance, upgrades and other day to day tasks
- Research solutions to investigate complex system issues
- Provide third level support for desktop support teams
- Assist with datacenter activates for servers and other infrastructure hardware
- Perform other duties as assigned to support Rexall Pharmacy Group ULC

**Knowledge, skills and experience**:

- 5+ years of related field experience
- College or University degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft PowerShell scripting
- Experience knowledge of System Center Operations Manager and System Center Configuration Manager
- Experience with NetBackup software and hardware
- Experience with cloud platforms (Office 365, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Services)
- Experience with various modern operating systems (current versions of: Windows Server, Windows Desktop and RedHat Linux)
- Experience with various datacenter infrastructure (Cisco USC, NetApp storage, HP ProLiant)

**Context and Environment**:
Must be able to work in a fast paced, high pressure and complex technical environment that requires attention to detail. Must be able to complete assigned tasks on time, efficiently and successfully work on several different assignments simultaneously.
