**Key Accountabilities**:
- Participates in key supplier negotiation working to secure long-term contracts in return for preferred pricing service
- Assist in problem-solving when required with the department representatives, Receiving / Storeroom personnel, and suppliers
- Sourcing goods and services for Aliant Resources at the right outlet, for the right service and price, while following the directions of Aliant Resources Procurement Policy, OPS Procurement Directive, and trade agreements (including CETA and CFTA).
- Assist the Purchasing Manager in the competitive procurement processes (such as RFPs and RFQs)
- Providing purchasing and product recommendations to appropriate management and all levels of staff
- Develop and implement volume discount/rebate program with suppliers
- Manage vendor contracts, update and maintain product and vendor database in Adaco
- Create purchase orders from approved requisitions
- Assist the Purchasing Administrator and Purchasing Manager with their duties when required
- Other duties as assigned by the Purchasing Manager
**Job Skills and Requirements**
- Minimum five (5) years experience in a procurement role, processing RFQs and RFPs, and contract management
- Undergraduate degree and a certificate in Supply Chain field (such as CSCMP, CSCP, NIGP-CPP)
- Sound knowledge of the Ontario Public Service (OPS) Procurement Directive and trade agreements (such as CETA, CFTA, etc.), as well as other relevant legislation and practices.
- Thorough knowledge of procurement trends and developments in both the private and public sectors as well as relevant policies, standards, processes, and alternative service delivery concepts
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with F&B, hospitality, and/or government procurements
- Demonstrates a commitment to providing a high level of customer service, with an acute understanding of the customer and their needs; utilizes sound judgment and decision-making
- Demonstrates project management skills; ability to organize, control and coordinate a variety of activities in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Ability to prioritize workload, manage unexpected occurrences and at the same time manage deadlines
- Experience in administering and negotiating the terms and conditions of formal contracts
- Knowledge and experience in materials provisioning and understanding of business and legal issues
- Excellent communication skills combined with strong analytical abilities and mathematical aptitude required
- Demonstrates experience in supplier relationship management and supplier qualification
