Purchasing Manager

Job Summary The Purchasing Manager is responsible for in‑unit management of product inventory, vendor relations, intra‑unit requisitions and purchase orders in a fast‑paced foodservice environment. Responsibilities Maintains “show quality” of all areas at all times. Understands all menus, product offerings, packaging, and pricing. Establishes rapport with associates, management, and partners. Employs safety, security, and sanitation guidelines and practices. Oversees in‑unit logistics, including transportation of food to local sites. Schedules and manages team members. Practices proper product control and handling of all inventory and equipment. Completes daily reporting and compiles information for month‑end closing. Reviews forecasts and schedules to meet operational needs and desired targets. Utilises Compass systems (Purchasing Systems, Point‑of‑sale, Timekeeping, etc.). Ensures inventory procedures for accountability and best practices. Uses performance‑management tools to guide staff and maintain communication. Establishes in‑unit vehicle operations procedures and maintenance schedule. Qualifications Effective verbal and written communication in English. Exceptional reading, writing, math, and computer skills. Ability to taste and evaluate food and beverage products. Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license. Physical ability to perform diverse tasks, lift, stoop, bend, and stand for extended periods. Willingness to work extended shifts of 10+ hours and flexible schedule.
