We are currently seeking a Machinist to join our loyal and productive team. This position is a full time role.

**Scope**

This position will be responsible for programing, set up, operation and maintenance of CNC mills, CNC and manual lathes.

**Qualifications**
- 3rd or 4th year Apprentice/Journeyman Certification Machining
- Several years experience in a shop environment as a Machinist
- Experience with CNC mills, HAAS and Okuma an asset
- Experience with CNC lathes, HAAS an asset
- Experience with the set up and operation of manual machining equipment
- Experience in 3D modeling and programming for CNC equipment, Solid works and GIBBS CAM a must have.
- Experience operating a forklift and overhead crane

**Responsibilities**
- Read and interpret work orders
- Review work order to determine which tasks are done and which ones still need to be completed
- Review drawings and work order to determine important information critical to the task they are performing, material, quantity, specific instructions, etc.
- Transport raw materials and finished metal products
- Manually move parts around shop either by hand or cart
- Use a fork lift or pallet jack to move large parts or material
- Load and unload vehicles using hand truck or dolly
- Clean work areas and equipment
- Sort raw materials and parts, scrap metal and other materials
- Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards
- Ensure all requirements of the work order and all steps have been completed
- Count finished products to determine if product orders are complete

**Abilities**

The individual filling this position will possess the following skills and abilities:

- Pays attention to detail by identifying details at a close range (within a few feet of the observer)
- Possesses the ability to recognize when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem
- Applies general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
- Listens to and understands information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences in the English language
- Communicates information and ideas in speaking clearly in order that others may understand
- Operates various hand tools and equipment, such as:

- Deburring equipment
- Bandsaw
- Forklift
- Measuring equipment
- Shows an interest in position by arriving to work on-time and being available for overtime when required
- Works in a safe manner by preventing:

- workplace injuries and/or accidents
- equipment damage
- structural/building damage
- Works quickly and efficiently by ensuring all tasks are completed within the allotted time frame and by offering ideas for improvements to processes to appropriate supervision
- Produces high quality work by maintaining mínimal rejects or non-conforming products

**Work Conditions**

The following is a list of physical work requirements and work conditions for this position:

- This position requires individuals who must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- The role is located in a shop environment where physical maneuverability is a must
- Small job shop environment
- This position is moderate to high risk with mandatory safety requirements. To perform duties in this position individuals must be physically fit with the ability to stand for long periods of time.
