**Summary**
The CNC Machinist is responsible for producing quality parts on the CNC lathes and Milling Machines. The CNC Machinist is responsible for loading parts, operating controls, setting offsets, program edits as required, deburring, and inspection of parts for conformance to requirements.
**Job Responsibilities & Duties**
- Setup, operate and maintain computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools to perform precision operations such as turning, milling, boring, planning, drilling, and other operations
- Study and interpret drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to compute dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements
- Detect, isolate, and identify irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment
- Identify root causes and corrective action for quality problems
- Use prescribed procedures to inspect parts produced compliance to specifications that will eliminate defects, scrap, rework, etc.
- Maintain equipment and work area daily in a clean and orderly condition. Report defective equipment, materials, and/or faulty operations to the supervisor
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency
**Requirements**:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. Post-secondary diploma or certification in a related field is preferred
- Journeyman/Red Seal CNC Machinist certification preferred.
- 3+ years’ experience operating and set up of CNC lathes and mills preferred
- Knowledge of Fanuc and Haas controls preferred
- Positive attitude with ability to ensure compliance with all quality, environmental, and health and safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations
- Advanced knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an in-depth understanding of geometric tolerance and dimensions
- Advanced knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines
- Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra for the purpose calculating material fabrication
- Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment
**Working Environment**
- Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, mechanical parts, and vibration.
- May be exposed to noise levels and sounds that might be loud or distracting.
- Able to remain standing for long periods of time.
- This position requires individuals to safely be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- 40-hour work week.
- Manual dexterity required.
**Compensation-** $25- $40 Hourly
**Shift -** 6:00am
- 2:30pm
