Position Summary: Day / Evening Shift
The CNC Machinist is the direct production worker. Certified, highly skilled, and trained machinist. The CNC Machinist is fully familiar with company production and quality control procedures, as well as the equipment used. The CNC Machinist, under the direction of the President or designate, will primarily be responsible to ensure compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery. This position will ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency. This role will also ensure outputs meet production schedules, quality, and safety standards, as well as customer needs. The CNC Machinist must possess extensive knowledge and skills in the efficient setting-up of CNC Machines (e.g., Okuma lathes & Hass mills) in the shortest possible time with NO supervision. The CNC Machinist must also have knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and tools required in various assembly processes and ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

Job Duties:
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and efficiency by ensuring outputs meet production schedules, quality, and safety standards, as well as customer needs.
- Follow manufacturing and processing procedures, (e.g., machine set-up, production run and inspection procedures as well as quality procedures)
- Must understand and be capable of reading all production drawings and geometrical tolerances.
- Must own several properly calibrated basic measuring tools/equipment needed for machining work and be capable of safely using these tools.
- Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of machine tools including CNC equipment to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, and drilling.
- Ensure production, production area and other equipment are clean and maintained in operating conditions and conditions consistent with company policies during and at the end of each workday.
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment and tools at work center. Identify and report any machinery and equipment problems to Supervisor or President.
- Closely monitor machines for signs of problems while ensuring output is meeting set specifications (e.g., production schedules, quality, and safety standards, as well as customer needs).
- Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine, controls, or control media within capabilities as required to ensure production quality.
- Ensure proper use, care, and maintenance of required PPE as per company safety policy.
- Comply with company policies, standards and objectives for waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.
- Support the ISO QMS (Quality Management System). Fully understand the importance of controlling Non-Conforming Products and be actively involved in the process of generating NCRs as per company's quality procedures.
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity, product quality, and safety.
Qualification & Education Requirements:
- Minimum five (5) years of related experience within a manufacturing setting
- Industry-related Certifications or licenses *Journeyman Machinist Designation (an added asset)
- Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and tools required in various machining processes.
- Ability to operate required equipment (e.g., CNC Machines) in a safe and responsible manner.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labour.
