About the Role

At Family Services of Greater Vancouver, we’ve been helping people in crisis since 1928. As a non-profit, we help people develop skills and knowledge, empowering our neighbours to create positive change in their lives. Our team is made up of more than 420 staff, including expert counsellors and support workers who provide compassionate, client-centered care to youth experiencing homelessness, families and children impacted by trauma, victims of domestic violence, and other vulnerable people from an evidence-based, trauma-informed lens. Working within the mission, vision, values and person-centred philosophy of the Agency, and under the direction of the Program Managers, the Regional Service Coordinator is responsible for coordinating client referrals from MCFD including intake, assessment, and matching clients for individual and/or group services with Integration Support Workers (ISWs). This role is also responsible for the day-to
- day support and guidance of Integration Support Workers. The Regional Service Coordinator collaborates with other service providers to meet client service needs, and ensures referring social workers up to date on service progress. The Regional Service Coordinator supports the Program Managers by providing input into the strategic direction of the program. It actively supports the Agency’s awareness and goals around diversity and inclusion.

**Salary**: GS11 Step 1 $56,074.20 annual salary

What you bring:
**Education, Training, Experience**
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related discipline
- Minimum 3-5 years’ recent experience of working with children and youth with support needs
- Experience meeting with families and conducting client assessments to determine service needs
- Minimum 1 year recent supervisory experience
- Experience with case management and liaison with community partners, ie. MCFD, Behavioural Consultants, Occupational Therapists, Psychiatrists, Teachers, etc.

**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**
- Awareness of different developmental disabilities and support strategies
- Client assessment and case planning skills
- Knowledge of MCFD services and navigation of their system to wrap around services for families
- Awareness of mental health diagnoses that co-exist with developmental disabilities
- Awareness of the Child Welfare Act and the Child and Family Services Act regarding reporting requirements
- Demonstrated client assessment and case planning skills
- Strong proficiency facilitating meetings with clients, families, staff, and stakeholders
- Strong problem solving skills

**Additional Requirements**
- Successful completion of criminal record check
- Proof of Covid-19 vaccination status will be required
- Class 5 driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle
