Assistant Manager, Miele Gallery Caplan's

Caplan’s Appliances is a destination, high-end home appliance retailer in Toronto serving customers across the GTA and beyond for more than 80 years. We are a third-generation family business with a mission to consistently provide a differentiated, world-class shopping experience. Across the street from our main store is Miele Gallery Caplan’s - the largest retail Miele showroom in the world featuring chefs cooking for and with clients in a live kitchen as well as an event space hosting in-person events clients and VIP design industry members.
We have an immediate opening for a passionate professional to support our creative approach to client hospitality while consistently delivering on monthly sales and relationship-building goals. Reporting to our Executive Chef/Miele Gallery Manager, this role may especially appeal to those with a passion for luxury retail, hospitality, sales and/or marketing. An interest in cooking or interior design is an asset.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain our high standards for showroom physical appearance, proactively ensure cleanliness and manage required inventory of supplies
- Manage client follow-up process (ie. sales quotes, in-showroom visits, after-sales needs)
- Effectively merchandise and sell select products
- Organize in-house sales training programs in conjunction with Miele representatives
- Lead inventory maintenance by following processes thoroughly and consistently
- Assist with the execution of VIP trade marketing initiatives and events
- Assist clients in navigating customer service support from Miele Canada
- Other administrative and customer service functions to support the overall business; this may include occasionally greeting customers at our main showroom across the street
POSTION REQUIREMENTS:
- College diploma or university degree
- 5+ years of experience in sales, customer service, marketing or hospitality
- Outstanding communication skills - both verbal and written
- Outstanding organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
- Team player who easily builds rapport
- Polished and well-groomed with a strong work ethic
- Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics or similar CRM system
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to quickly master a variety of retail operating systems
