**Skagen Gallery, owned by Danish Pastry House, is opening a new art gallery, representing local artists, in Shops of Don Mills, Toronto.**

**We are looking for a full time, experienced, Gallery Assistant to work with our Gallery Director, appx 35 hours per week.**
- Organized, detail oriented, able to complete and prioritize multiple tasks
- Strong and physically ability to safely and confidently move Artwork. Self-directed and able to operate with mínimal supervision.
- Professional demeanor and appearance with excellent phone presence.
- Communicative with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A team player who can both take initiative and play a supportive role within the group.
- Able to share the gallery space without losing focus or distracting co-workers in the co-tenanted bakery cafe.

**Requirements and responsibilities**:

- Some registrar duties - art handling, assisting with packing, shipping, and installing artwork.
- Entering new inventory and new clients into the database.
- Maintaining and updating gallery database and website.
- Keeping artists’ CVs, press, images, files, and folders up to date and organized.
- Preparation of promotional materials for individual artists and exhibitions.
- Keeping track of gallery deadlines, schedules, and task lists.

*Responsibilities may be flexible based on the gallery’s schedule, unique projects and opportunities, and the natural strengths and abilities of the new employee. We are a small, boutique gallery, so, at some point, everyone does everything.

**Qualifications**:

- Computer literate. Comfortable with digital photography, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, social media. **Past work experience with galleries or arts organizations required.**:

- Strong writing skills a plus.
- Experience in handling fine art a plus.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds +.
- Willingness to work some evenings and weekend.
- Art related education a plus

**Job Types**: Permanent, Full-time

**Salary**: $22.00 per hour
