Medical Assistant - Training Program (IIAM Model Patient Care) Vancouver, BC (Pacific Dermatology) Position Overview: Key Responsibilities: Patient Reception & Support: - Greet and assist IIAM model patients in a professional, friendly, and empathetic manner. - Verify patient identity, medical history, and treatment specifics before initiating any procedures. - Provide information and ensure patients are informed about their treatment and what to expect during the process. Pre-Treatment Procedures: - Take "before" photos of patients as per protocol for treatment documentation. - Assist with preparing patients for treatments, ensuring they are fully comfortable and aware of the process. Post-Treatment Care & Documentation: - Take "after" photos following treatment and record outcomes. - Assist with the completion and organization of patient charts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all documentation. - Provide aftercare instructions to patients and address any immediate concerns post-treatment. Assistance with Payment & Insurance: - Support patients with payments when applicable, ensuring a smooth transaction process. - Assist with billing documentation and coordination with the administrative team. Qualifications: - Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred or in progress. - Previous experience in a medical or clinical environment preferred, particularly in dermatology or aesthetic treatments. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients in a compassionate manner. - Ability to manage multiple tasks, be detail-oriented, and maintain accuracy in documentation. - Knowledge of basic medical terminology and patient care protocols. - Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and patient management software is a plus. - Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. **Job Type**: Part-time Pay: $250.00 per day **Experience**: - Medical Office Assistant: 1 year (required) Licence/Certification: - Certified Medical Assistant (preferred) Work Location: In person
