The Territory Manager will be responsible for the education and advocacy for the cannabis categories of concentrates, edibles, vapes, beverages, topicals, and dried flower with retailers and consumers within the adult-use market on behalf of our suppliers. By maintaining on-going relationships with retailers this position will look to increase sales volume, increase market share and brand awareness at the consumer level, develop key partnerships, activations, and events while working within a budget.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with the National Territory Sales Management Team to establish and execute sales targets and marketing goals for the assigned region;
- Work collaboratively with the CEO, Western Sales Manager, Marketing Coordinator, and Brand Ambassadors to meet client needs;
- Build events and activity in order to help increase brand awareness and sales
- Explore the consumer occasions that transcend these key categories and initiate activity that elevates them in the customer and consumer’s minds
- Develop specific plans to ensure growth both in the long and short-term
- Educate retailers and consumers through sales and marketing initiatives, programs, in-store and online engagements to increase brand awareness;
- Understand and comply with federal and provincial cannabis regulations while remaining up-to-date and educated on changing regulatory conditions (municipal, provincial and federal) as they relate to the assigned territory;
- Effectively manage the assigned territory, ensuring all administrative records, budget and information is current and up to date;
- Visit various suppliers and retailers within the assigned territory on a regular basis to:

- Maintain strong relationships
- Identify new opportunities to activate cannabis brands within retail environments
- Build a partnership with retailers to maximize distribution and visibility on behalf of clients
- Gather inventory, product, service, and industry feedback
- Maintain full working knowledge of client brand(s), activity, history, and products;
- Work with other Territory Managers to challenge and identify new opportunities;
- Keep abreast of competitor trends and report appropriate developments;
- Ensure expenses and reports are completed and delivered on time;
- Ensure agreed activity at Head Office is translated into strong execution plans;
- Balance the personal digital opportunities with the needs of Mercari and our suppliers;
- Share knowledge and best practices with fellow teammates and departments;
- Other duties as required.

**Requirements**:

- Experience in the cannabis industry
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- Proven leadership qualities and habits
- Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to react and contribute to a changing environment
- Ability to pivot constructively when faced with unplanned challenges
- CannaReps training prefered
- A clear understanding of legal engagement with respect to cannabis and what the consequences are for non-compliance
- 3+ years related sales experience, key account experience preferred
- Strong project management skills with attention to detail
- Expert knowledge on cannabis and diverse product categories
- Strong knowledge of sales processes as well as cross-functional exposure to other company business operations (such as logistics, inventory management, marketing, accounting, supply chain, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver abstract with access to a reliable vehicle
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
- Thrives in a fast-paced, changing, and growing environment
- Manual dexterity for the operation of a computer

**Working Conditions**:

- Must be able to travel extensively through assigned territory
- Manage multiple relationships across the cannabis supply chain
- Work as a collaborative team member with our diverse and high performing sales team
- Some heavy lifting of up to 50lbs

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
