The Prairie Summit Shop **Job Description**: Assistant Manager 1. Sales & Floor coverage - First priority is to make sure customers are helped and sufficient staff is on the floor to help customers with sales or till transactions. 2. HR - works with Manager to set work schedules, helps Manager with staff training 3. Key Holder - has a key to open and close the store, has alarm codes, may need to go in after hours in case of a B & E or store emergency. 4. Cash Out/Closing - performing the cash out and handling cash according to store policy. Must know how to balance cash out sheet/transactions or know who to contact if cash out or computer has issues. 5. Inventory reporting a. Receiving and labeling of new store stock in a timely fashion b. Keeping the sales floor stocked and organized c. Identifying items that need to be restocked/reordered and working with the Manager to place these orders d. Can initiate transfers between stores e. Be familiar with all back stock and future stock orders f. Will work with staff on physical inventory counts g. Will review sales reports with manager to identify possible sales issues, product issues, or general stock issues 6. Merchandising a. will keep floor stock well organized and merchandize maniquins on a regular basis b. will work with manager in regards to which product catagories need to be featured or displayed c. will initiate new merchandising displays in store on a monthly basis. 7. Will help customers with special orders, make sure the orders get placed by managers, will follow up with customers and managers regarding orders. 8. Will help customers with warranty claims as per store policy. Will follow up with warranty claims and customers. Qualifications: - Retail experience in a fast-paced specialty store environment - Managerial/Supervisor experience preferred - Strong work ethic with a positive, energetic approach and attention to detail - Commitment to driving sales and building/solidifying a customer base, while maintaining performance levels in accordance with The Prairie Summit Shop and The North Face's values - Excellent customer service and selling skills - Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication & computer skills - A knowledge and passion for the outdoors is a must **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent **Salary**: starting at $19.00 per hour **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent Pay: From $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 37.5 - 40 per week Flexible language requirement: - French not required Schedule: - 8 hour shift Work Location: In person
