Training Coordinator

**A. Job Summary Statement**:
The Training Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of the site-training requirements, executing site training requirements and leading in safe work practices in compliance with Brimich policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
**B. Essential Functions & Responsibilities**:
- Participates in new hire selection by conducting MHE assessments on potential new team members
- Facilitates new hire training; MHE theory training, site safety rules, food safety training, systems training and other company policies as prescribed
- Oversee and coordinate site training matrix including the scheduling of all employee training including re-training and recertifications
- Maintain all site training records and documentation
- Responsible for training employees in other areas as required
- Assist with assessing new and existing employees on current processes, and prepare reports with recommendation for improvements.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of site training packages as required
- Ensure compliance with site safety requirements and the Occupational Health & Safety Act and any other relevant legislation.
- Develop, lead and execute communications strategies to heighten Health and Safety awareness at all levels (including reports, statistical information, goals, performance results, etc)
- Understand work processes and operational flow, as it pertains to Health and Safety and Warehouse Operations
- Advise management of any known or potential health and safety concerns
- Support warehouse operations as a Material Handler or perform other tasks as needed when training responsibilities are not required.
- To assist and work within the warehouse operations when training duties are not required
**C. Health and Safety**:
- Understands and works in compliance with the Environmental and Health/Safety management systems, policies, rules, and guidelines.
- Observe standards for safe working conditions as outlined in the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Takes every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of a worker. Specific safety responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting regular workplace inspections, leading or participating in safety talks and employee meetings, actively engaging in accident/incident investigations, training new employees, identifying and addressing unsafe acts or conditions, recognizing and improving health and safety performance, and conducting performance appraisals focused on workers' safety outcomes.
**D. Job Specifications—Skills and Competencies**:
- Must be available to work on different shifts and travel to various Brimich locations to conduct required training
- Must be willing to commit to this role for a minimum 12-month tenure
- Must possess effective oral, written communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills and strong instructional, presentation and facilitation skills.
- Must possess the ability to execute strong adult learning techniques
- Ability to work well independently and within a team environment
- Working knowledge of and the ability to interpret Material Handling Equipment legislation, Health & Safety standards and other applicable legislation
- Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills
- Well versed in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
- Great attention to detail and high accuracy with data entry
- A positive and proactive attitude for solving problems and meeting challenges
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and interact with all levels of employees
- Expected to present themselves in a clean, well-groomed manner
- Fully capable of working in varying temperatures. Temperatures may range anywhere from 2° to 15°C in most Brimich Warehouses. Brimich Cold Storage buildings may range from 0° to -30°C.
**E. Education & Training Requirements**
- A minimum 5 years MHE experience is required (Counterbalance, Reach, Pallet Truck).
- Prior training experience considered an asset.
- Experience with Counterbalance, Reach, Order Picker and Pallet truck considered an asset.
- Experience with wireless RF systems including voice picking considered an asset.
- Experience working in cold storage or refrigerated warehouse considered an asset.
- Certified MHE trainer (Train the Trainer) or willing to complete.
