**About the Position**
Reporting to the Fitness & Wellness Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Fitness Centre. This will include administrative tasks, completing equipment maintenance and inspection reports, training and scheduling Fitness Centre Representatives, supply ordering, providing orientations & tours of the facility, covering critical Fitness Centre shifts, and ensuring an overall safe and sanitary Fitness Centre environment, always working towards excellence in customer service.

**Job Type**: Full-Time, Hourly (30-40 hours/week) - Benefits eligible
**Availability Required**: Flexible availability is required, including opening shifts (5:45am), evenings, and weekends - as required to support the team and facility coverage.

**Specific responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the day-to-day operational coordination of the Fitness Centre (& Mezz/Track) and associated fitness centre amenities. This includes ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment and equipment, effective staffing levels, and excellent customer service.
- Responsible for Day-to-day leadership and coordination of Fitness Centre Representatives: training (new hires & ongoing training), communications, scheduling, and ongoing staff development, feedback, and incident follow-up - working in close alignment with the Supervisor.
- Accountable for scheduling & managing time off requests from staff, ensuring reliable and efficient Fitness Centre scheduling that meets business needs.
- A strong degree of technical competency in the programming and scheduling software is required to support the entire Fitness Department with changes to programs, registration, instructors, scheduling, member administration, and more.
- Develop, implement, monitor, coordinate, and adjust the following:
- Proper opening/closing procedures
- Equipment inspections and ensuring inspection reports have been completed
- All Fitness safety, security, and emergency procedures for the Fitness team: including WHMIS labelling, ERP and Area Warden competency, radio usage, first aid, and incident reporting.
- Daily cleaning of Fitness Centre & spaces - sanitization, laundry, and deep cleaning
- Equipment Management and Daily Maintenance (Fitness Centre, Track, and Mezz)
- Ensure effective tracking and data management of Fitness Centre users
- Development of Fitness Centre SOPs, forms, and processes
- Handle and role model effective customer interactions for situations including policy/rule violations, upset and escalated customer situations, emergencies and other types of issues.
- Manage short-term and long-term equipment and inventory management, conduct budgeted ordering as needed.
- Continually recommend, develop, and implement improvements, including guest experience, innovative fitness programming opportunities, staffing structure, resources, materials, and processes.
- (If certified) May provide back-up support for Fitness class instruction and/or Personal Training.

**Qualifications**:

- A passionate Fitness professional with a minimum of 3 years working directly in the Fitness industry.
- Fitness certifications such as AFLCA or ACE are a significant asset.
- 2-3 years of relevant leadership/supervisory experience.
- Experience supervising staff and ensuring customer safety, working with a Health & Safety department, and implementing new safety processes and practices.
- Proficiency with the MS Office Suite (required)
- Experience with ActiveNet (or similar CRM system) is a significant asset. Technical abilities to quickly learn this and other software (including scheduling, incident reporting, and work order systems) is required.
- Standard First Aid & CPR (required)
- Able to work in a physical environment: long periods of standing/walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, and twisting, pushing/pulling objects, and reaching overhead. Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Able to provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Check
