**About the Role**:
Real Matters (the “Company”) is looking for a skilled individual to manage our accounts payable function. Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, the AP Specialist will perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions and perform other accounting duties as required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Review and verify invoices and employee expense reports for compliance with the Company’s approval and financial policies, and entry into the Company’s accounting system
- Prepare and process Company cheques runs, electronic funds transfers and wires
- Post transactions to appropriate general ledger accounts
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
- Professionally correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
- Assist with the month end financial close, ensuring deadlines are met
- Prepare monthly accruals
- Assess expenses for prepaids and maintain the prepaid expenses schedule
- Review monthly Profit and Loss Statements with the Accounting Manager for accuracy and completeness
- Provide supporting documentation for annual audits
- Set-up bank transfers between subsidiaries
- Prepare daily cash report for distribution to the Company’s finance team
- Administer the Company’s corporate credit cards, including the distribution of credit card statements, collection of receipts/invoices, the recording of related transactions to the Company’s accounting system and assisting with cardholder related issues
- Prepare bank deposits for collection payments received
- Investigate client credit card disputes and process credit card refunds as needed
- Manage offsite file retention archives

**Skills and Experience Required**
The primary qualifications for this role include:

- Knowledge of accounts payable and general accounting procedures
- Organized and detail oriented
- Team player
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Data entry skills and proficiency in MS Excel
- Working knowledge of MS Dynamics GP is an asset
- Minimum experience of 5 years is preferred
