Pre-employment job shadows (total of 12 hours) will be a requirement in order to ensure our settings are an appropriate match to your career interests and skill sets.- Oversees the overall care of person served in the home. Participates as part of the team responsible for the efficient functioning of residence operations on both an individual and group basis. The Residential Support Worker enhances and rehabilitates the quality of life for persons served by ensuring that their placement, social, educational, health, emotional/behavioural, and cultural needs are met. Case management, life skills support, behaviour management, hygiene assistance, medications and community inclusion are all aspects of the position. Our approaches are trauma informed and client-centered in order to optimize our ability to assist our persons served in their individual goals. Principles of mindfulness and promoting an awareness of thought patterns and emotions experienced in the present, are integral to our role in this journey.**Application Requirements**: - Must be able for day, evening and overnight shifts including weekends and statutory holidays. - Education, training and experience working with persons with developmental delays and behavioural challenges - Current clear RCMP Criminal Record Check - Valid BC Class 5 Drivers License - Valid Emergency First Aid Certificate (Emergency First Aid ~ Community Care preferred) **Additional expectations prior to being offered a position will include**: - Physician's Declaration indicating that the individual's mental & physical health is suitable to the demands of the position. - Current immunization records demonstrating compliance with the Province's immunization programs - Current & Clear TB Test, Current Tetanus - Clean driver's record from ICBC - Review & signing of Confidentiality Agreement, Client's Rights and other company policies - Three positive written references - MCFD Screening Clearance - SIVA Training (Supporting Individuals Through Valued Attachments) will be provided without cost to new employees by Carmichael Enterprises Residential Programs Ltd. **"Come grow with us"**Deputy Executive Director**- If you wish to be considered for positions in our Courtenay homes please note this in your submission.**Note**: ***Applications will be kept on file for 6 monthsA career with Carmichael Enterprises Residential Programs Ltd. involves looking beyond challenges faced and working together with our clients to achieve their goals and perhaps work towards those they never believed possible.
