**Position Background**:
**Core Duties**:

- Communicate with Maintenance Manager to receive direction on what items require blasting and work deadlines
- Complete required paperwork
- Operation of air compressor/air hose to remove dust
- Repair and maintenance of equipment as needed such as clean, lubricate and replace parts
- Routine housekeeping
- Perform sand blasting duties on parts/equipment to remove paint, scale, grease, tar, rust, corrosion, and foreign objects to desired specifications
- Read job specifications and follow verbal instructions

**Qualifications and skills**:

- Fluent in English
- Minimum 3 years of previous experience as a sandblaster
- Working knowledge of safety devices necessary for sandblasting
- Strong work ethics
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Forklift certification (preferred)

Working Conditions:

- Working alone
- Long periods of operating high pressure blasting equipment
- Regular exposure to Enviro-friendly sand, dust, and dangerous and/or toxic substances requiring adherence to safety precautions and proper use of PPE
- Yard and shop Environment (100%)
- May be required to work weekends and outside of regular office hours
- May be required to work outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and heat

Schedule:

- Overtime

- Edmonton, AB T5S 1X8: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
