Guelph & Area Right to Life Association (GRTL) is looking for a new project coordinator for their pregnancy support program, Sanctuary Outreach (SO). This is a part-time position with semi-flexible daytime weekday hours.

The Project Coordinator is responsible for the ongoing development of SO as well as the day-to-day tasks necessary to keep SO functioning - these include networking with other groups and organizations, creating and distributing informational materials about our services and other local supports, being available to be a part of the helpline rotation, keeping donors and supporters up-to-date on the project, recruiting and managing volunteers to help with SO, fundraising and developing relationships with corporate donors, planning outreach events and educational workshops, and meeting with and supporting pregnant women as needed.

Sanctuary Outreach operates within the guidelines of our vision, mission statement, and core values, and the Project Coordinator needs to be fully aligned with those principles and committed to ensuring that SO is in line with them at all times. Unexpectedly pregnant women are often experiencing a variety of challenges in their lives, in addition to pregnancy. The SO Project Coordinator must have strong characteristics of empathy, compassion, patience and resilience.

As a project of the GRTL, the SO Project Coordinator reports to the Program Manager of GRTL. Paid training will be provided prior to the start date.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 2 years degree in social services or related field AND/OR minimum 2 years of experience working in the social service field
- Knowledge of issues related to pregnancy, parenting, adoption, and abortion
- Experience working with vulnerable persons, especially women/girls
- Commitment to pro-life values
- Basic knowledge of community resources in the Guelph area
- Some graphic design experience an asset
- G License & access to car an asset

**Responsibilities of the Project Coordinator**:

- Outreach_
- Seek out and book opportunities to set up our resource tent in public spaces throughout Guelph & the surrounding region.
- Network with community drop-in organizations, teaching them about pregnancy support, providing resources, and potentially making volunteers available to them.
- Build relationships with other community support organizations to keep up-to-date on their services and keep them informed on what Sanctuary Outreach is doing in the community.
- Contact local medical professionals to inform them about the services and support that Sanctuary Outreach offers.
- Support churches in providing pregnancy support through Gabriel Project ministries or other similar projects.
- Reach out to secondary schools to discuss unexpected pregnancy and offer pregnancy support training and resource information.
- Work with, and provide support to, the Sanctuary Outreach Project Assistant to coordinate post-secondary student outreach activities.
- Communications_
- Create, keep up-to-date, and restock inventory of informational materials relating to pregnancy and parenting support, as well as Sanctuary Outreach projects.
- Write monthly reports for the board of directors detailing project updates.
- Have weekly meetings with the Program Manager to set goals and monitor progress.
- Update and maintain website content.
- Create content for social media and repost content from community organizations to keep our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts active.
- Contribute a Sanctuary Outreach update to Right to Life’s quarterly newsletter.
- Volunteer Management_
- Use a variety of strategies to recruit volunteers - i.e., through social media, church newsletters, Sanctuary Outreach newsletters, Right to Life Newsletters, resource booths, etc.
- Follow Sanctuary Outreach protocols to train and screen volunteers.
- Organize volunteer schedule, including for special events.
- Support volunteers in their roles through recognition and check-ins.
- Fundraising/Donations_
- Organize specific fundraising campaigns (for instance, for Giving Tuesday, the Infant Car Seat Fund, or for bus advertisements).
- Seek out business donors/sponsors and build relationships with them.
- Seek out private donors and communicate with them.
- Track funds used for client support, including managing the Infant Car Seat Fund.
- Sort in-kind donations and redistribute excess to other community organizations.
- Client Support_
- Have the helpline cellphone for 1 week each month and create the rotation schedule.
- Meet with women/girls/families who would like to come to the office in-person.
- Create a plan of care for each pregnant woman/girl who contacts Sanctuary Outreach for support.
- Keep the resources in the support survey up-to-date.
- Connect peer parent mentor-mentee matches and follow up with mentor to check-in on progress.
- Ensure that community organizations know about the Infant Car Seat Fund, process community referrals, and purchase and distribute
