The Granite Club is looking for a Camp Leaders who, along with their team, will provide a safe, stimulating environment for the children in the Camp programs and take on more responsibilities than the counsellors. This permits parents to participate more freely in sports and social activities offered at the club.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Safe check-in and out.
- Attend and play an active role in regular staff meetings.
- Assist children to get ready for activities and ensure they are on time for activities.
- Provide a safe and fun environment for the campers.
- Ensure rules are adhered to.
- Clean areas at the end of the activity.
- Ensure children eat their lunch and snack and sit with them.
- Creatively develop crafts and ideas for games to follow weekly themes.
- Dress up on dress-up days.
- Ensure questions and concerns from parents are noted to the supervisor.
- Participate in non-instructional activities with children such as swimming, sports, tennis, etc. and encourage participation in these activities
- Administrative tasks such as keeping accurate attendance lists and turning them in to the Camp Supervisors at the end of each week.
- Communicate with parents about their child’s day - establish a positive relationship with parents
- Ensure the First Aid kit is up to date and with the group at all times.
- Post weekly program plans and ensure changes are communicated to parents
- Develop a detailed weekly schedule with the team and distribute it to the front door, Camp Supervisors and KidZone/Hub
- Be aware of all the information on medical forms such as alternate pick-up people, allergies, and emergency contacts. Keep this information with you at all times.
- Ensure “special requests” are met. (drop off, allergies, etc.)
- Delegate specific tasks to counsellors in their group.
- Be on time for a shift and ensure you have all materials for the day ready 15 minutes prior to the start of camp.
- Responsible for taking attendance and reporting absences on a daily basis.
**Required Qualifications**:

- Minimum Grade 12.
- Valid CPR & Emergency First Aid Required.
- A responsible, patient person who must have a genuine love for children.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience as a camp counsellor and supervisor is an asset.
- Previous experience with one the following: Art, Drama, Science, Gymnastics, Cheerleading, Dance, French, Tennis, Squash, and Badminton is an asset.
