**ROLE SUMMARY**

The Unit Head will be responsible for overseeing a specific group of campers and managing the counsellors within their unit, ensuring a positive, safe and fun experience. This role involves supervising the daily activities of both campers and staff, ensuring quality care, and maintaining a supportive and collaborative environment. The Unit Head will be the main point of contact for campers’ parents, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the camp season.

**KEY DELIVERABLES**
- Oversee and manage the wellbeing of campers within your unit, ensuring a positive, engaging, and safe environment.
- Supervise and support counsellors within your unit, ensuring they meet expectations and provide quality care to the campers.
- Act as the main point of contact between parents and camp, providing updates and addressing concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure that counsellors are adhering to camp policies, safety procedures, and guidelines, and provide feedback and guidance as needed.
- Foster a positive, supportive, and collaborative team environment within the unit, ensuring staff are equipped with the necessary resources and tools to succeed.
- Handle any camper or staff issues, including conflict resolution, and escalate when necessary.
- Ensure the smooth daily operation of the unit, including supervising camper transitions, meals, and activities.
- Organize and manage all necessary paperwork, such as attendance and staff evaluations.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child’s progress, wellbeing, and any concerns that may arise during the camp session.
- Provide leadership during staff meetings and training sessions, contributing ideas to improve camp operations and camper experience.
- Assist with special events and activities as needed to enhance the overall camp experience.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Relevant experience in a leadership role at a camp or similar recreational setting.
- Strong communication skills, both with children and adults and the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team of counsellors.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a positive and organized environment.

**Expected start date**: 2025-06-02

Pay: $1,800.00-$2,500.00 per month
