Methodologies and materials specific to selected topics are highlighted with emphasis on contemporary reform mathematics pedagogies, including the integration of computational thinking..75 credit **Responsibilities**: You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades. **Qualifications**: Qualifications (Minimum Required): - Demonstrated qualifications related to teaching mathematics and computational thinking at the elementary level - Proven record of effective teaching in elementary mathematics education - Proven record of effective teaching in elementary French Immersion education - Familiarity with contemporary reform approaches in mathematics education - Knowledge of the Ontario Mathematics Curriculum and current Ministry priorities - Fluency in oral and written French and experience teaching mathematics in French as a Second Language settings Preferred Qualifications / Assets: - Master’s degree in education, mathematics education, or a related field - OCT certification, including a Specialist qualification in Mathematics (Primary/Junior) or equivalent - Understanding of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and differentiated instruction in math - Experience in integrating digital tools and computational thinking into elementary math instruction In accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement, consideration of applicants will include an assessment of previous performance, experience, and qualifications, including qualifications which go beyond the requirements for the position.
