**Position**: Operations Manager

CES Transformer is a growing transformer manufacturer located in Markham, Ontario. Operating for over 35 years. CES is focused on the future and growth of the company. We are looking for a full-time team member for the role of Operations Manager to add to our motivated, entrepreneurial, and energetic team.

**Scope of Position**

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Operations Manager functions as an integral member of the Operations team shares the responsibility for establishing and maintaining a professional working environment that is committed to customer service, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Responsible for the overall effectiveness of operations of production, scheduling, safety, quality, and timely delivery of Transformers. Daily facilitation of collaborative efforts between various departments including Engineering, Stagging & Logistics, and Human Resources will be essential for success within this position. The Operations Manager will steer toward an overall goal of Operational Excellence using CES Transformers roadmap of continuous improvement KPIs.

**Responsibilities**:

- Build and lead a high performing Supervisory team to deliver operational excellence and outstanding customer service across all operational departments including scheduling, production, and logistics
- Provides functional direction & leadership to all operating departments in the plant through the setting and management of appropriate performance objectives. Objectives include, but are not limited to the following: production sequence, utilization of equipment, product run times, line efficiencies & operational capacity)
- Formulates, develops, implements, and measures utilization, quality, delivery, and safety KPIs
- Creation and execution of operating objectives, and continuous improvement opportunities
- Develop and drive operational initiatives around 5S, standard work, and process improvement systems using Lean principles
- Facilitate and participate in regular production meetings to review scheduling and backlog constraints and facilitate solutions
- Participate and represent Operations in all new product implementation projects run in a timely manner and to customer specifications
- Support safety and quality initiatives to meet ISO 9001 mandates and meet IEEE Standards
- Manage the reporting, investigation, and updates for safety related items for all Production activities and premises
- Manage inventory (in the stagging dept) to coincide with production activity and ensure optimal levels
- Identify root causes for safety, quality, and delivery deviations and implement actions plans to address deficiencies
- Responsible for the cost-effective use of resources in the production process, including the effective use of overtime.
- Participates in bi-weekly payroll processing
- Key contact for escalated complaints for operational issues
- Champion culture and core values of interaction, innovation, and commitment
- Participate in and manage the completion of employee performance and development review process in your reporting areas on an annual basis
- Maintain a safe, secure, and inclusive workplace
- Accepts all other related duties as deemed necessary by management

**Qualifications**
- Minimum of 10 years combined work experience in the following related areas in manufacturing: planning, procurement (stagging process), operations, quality, engineering
- A proven track record of effective development, communication, and implementation of complex strategies in for products, processes, people, and policy.
- Strategic, systematic, and organized individual with excellent communication skills both written and oral.
- Demonstrates an ability to develop and foster strong cross-functional relationships and bridge communication gaps to ensure optimal team performance.
- Minimum 1 year working with Oracle or similar ERP system
- May require criminal sector background check

**Knowledge**
- Strong understanding of ERP software (Oracle preferred)
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of welding, assembly and associated equipment is strongly preferred
- Previous experience with ISO 9001 regulations (especially auditing/developing procedures)

**Salary**: $90,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
