Position Summary
Reporting to the VP, Finance and located in the Calgary, AB office the Manager, Accounts Receivable oversees the collection of payments from clients on behalf of the company. Supervise a team of associates and oversee the timely and accurate invoicing of customers and the handling of overdue payments according to the company’s policies. The accounts receivable manager supervises the accounts receivable department and works closely with customers to ensure that payment deadlines are met. Must possess strong accounting skills and ensure the accuracy of the invoicing and collections processes. Ensure that customers pay their accounts on time to effectively strengthen the company’s financial position.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of accounts receivable professionals.
- Conducting credit checks on new and potential customers.
- Implement credit collection policies and regulations of the company.
- Implement deadlines for invoicing and payment collection.
- Ensuring the timely collection of payments.
- Negotiate with customers in cases when non-payment occurs.
- Prepare monthly feedback reports on payment collections.
- Keep records of invoices, deposits, and all correspondence regarding payment collection.
- Remaining informed of any legislative procedural training regarding account collection.
- Complete AR-related accounting reconciliations including subledger to GL reconciliation, accruals reconciliations, and allowance for doubtful accounts and provisions.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, management, or finance required
- Strong credit management background
- 2 years of experience as an accounts receivable manager or relevant supervisory experience
- CPA designation preferred
- The ability to work accurately and independently.
- Experience with accounting software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- An eye for detail along with excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Strong time and people management skills.
