Job Summary: This position will work collaboratively with various departments to provide a full range of Human Resources services with respect to employee matters. The HR Generalist will help employees across all departments remote and on-site employees in multiple regions of Canada.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain onboarding of all new hires in Canada partner with HR in the US.
- Employee Relations -act as a point of contact for all employee related issues.
- Administer all employee health and welfare benefit programs.
- Manage all leave claims and questions.
- Compliance and Regulations, stay current and up to date on all legislation.
- Participate in the Health and Safety committee.
- Performance management - Assist managers with annual reviews, progressive discipline difficult conversations.
- HR administration - updating and maintaining employee files, return to work programs, producing key HR reports, preparing documents, offer letters, termination packages.
- Participate in all internal and external HR related audits.
- Partner with HR team members developing HR processes.
- Ensuring confidentiality of Human Resource files, documentation, and information
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- This position requires some college with 5 years’ experience, CHRP/CHRL preferred.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written with the ability to deal effectively with all levels of staff and external organizations.
- Ability to develop partnerships and alliances, as well as manage a diversity of opinions in a positive manner.
- Strong research skills to stay current on emerging trends, technologies and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and deal with sensitive and confidential matters.
- Strong project management skills including planning, prioritizing and the ability to multi-task.
- Thorough working knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations
- Good organizational, problem-solving, and coaching skill
