HR Generalist

**Job Duties**:

- Manage employee attendance records and liaise from time to time with managers to ensure proper practice of company rules and regulations.
- Assist the HR Director in resolving employee concerns and grievances which includes assisting with issues pertaining to performance, values & behaviours, leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, terminations, and disability accommodations, complaints, investigations.
- Assist in the development of company policies/procedures and HR projects.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, policies and procedures.
- Participate in the development and improvement of processes and templates.
- Liaise with Mackenzie Investments and Pathwise to set up employee DPSPs and RRSPs.
- Create bi-weekly DPSP and RRSP Reports and facilitate to enrollment of eligible employees into the program as required.
- Facilitate HR Director regarding the Probation review process and employee benefit enrolment activities.
- Communicate with Canada Life regarding employee queries, issues, enrolment purposes, etc.
- Manage all employee information and ensure it is up-to-date in the filing system and HR database (Dayforce).
- Assist employees in using the HRIS System (Dayforce) effectively. For example, help them update their personal information, send requests for leave of absence through the system, log their work hours, reset their login information if they forget their passwords, etc.
- Manage employee training records and communicate with employees regarding mandatory training requirements.
- Assist the HR Director in handling employee queries by providing knowledge of policies, programs, and rewards and be the point of contact for employee questions related to policies, employee programs, and rewards such as benefits and payroll questions.
- Draft Employee Agreements and Employment Letters as and when required.
- Contribute to OD efforts by helping make improvements to processes, templates and procedures as and when required.
- Create and post job postings, efficiently and effectively to fill vacant positions.
- Utilize the various internal/external recruiting channels to review and analyze resumes.
- Participate in recruiting plans for specific vacancies including participating in interviewing and selection.
- Answer frequently asked questions from applicants relative to standard policies, benefits, and hiring processes.
- Handle reference checks and background checks for potential employees.
- Generate reports, offer letters and other materials such as employee engagement surveys, employee mental health checks, etc.
- Participate on the Health and Safety Committee and coordinate any significant improvements or changes required with the executive team
- Facilitate social events planning for the office, sending out flowers and gifts as required.
- Take part in training and webinars, conduct research, and listen to HR-related Podcasts, from time to time, to stay updated regarding HR practices.
- Last but not least, actively participate in fostering a ‘family-like’ culture within the organization.
