We continue to expand and have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Coordinator within our team.
- Key Responsibilities:_
- Enhance and promote a strong health and safety culture
- Assist in planning, organizing and implementing programs and procedures designed to promote compliance with local Government Regulation, Industry Standards, and Corporate Policies and Procedures.
- Provide guidance and show leadership with all divisions, particularly when working with the JHSC
- Assist in administering/implementing all established health and safety policies/regulations and safe work practices in accordance with company policy
- Maintain a visual presence on site and throughout the metal shop and precast plant assisting and identifying workplace hazards
- Create and distribute health and the safety bulletins and other forms of communication on a regular basis
- Develop reports to summarize at risk items and corrective actions.
- Verify corrective actions have been completed
- Perform audits and provide analysis on our current legislative programs for the purpose of continuous improvement
- Assist in developing expert health and safety training to support our programs
- Assist in analyzing trends in loss experience and loss causation and initiate processes to address performance issues related to maintaining safe and healthy worksites
- Other duties as required and/or assigned
- _Required Knowledge & Skills:_
- Diploma/Certificate that is Health and Safety related, NCSO considered an asset
- 1 - 2 years' experience in a similar role within the construction field is preferred
- Experience with the COR program and compliance considered an asset
- JHSC certification considered an asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and HRIS software
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and capacity to influence others towards a safe culture
