**Position Summary**:
The Director of Programs and Operations (DPO) is a key leadership role, reporting to the Executive Director (ED), responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Lighthouse Mission's programs, including the soup kitchen, essential needs services, and the upcoming detox center. The DPO ensures that all programs align with the organization’s mission, run efficiently, and meet the needs of the community. This role supports the ED by managing staff, ensuring compliance, maintaining program excellence, and fostering strong partnerships.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Program Leadership and Oversight:
- Coordinate the implementation and management of all Lighthouse Mission programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and community needs.
- Coordinate the operational planning, execution, and evaluation of the detox center, collaborating with the ED to establish policies and procedures.
- Monitor program effectiveness by collecting and analyzing data, providing regular reports to the ED and board of directors.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to enhance program impact.
Operational Management:
- Ensure that all facilities and services operate efficiently and comply with health and safety standards.
- Manage staff schedules, resource allocation, and operational logistics to ensure seamless program delivery.
- Oversee the maintenance of facilities and equipment, coordinating repairs and upgrades as needed.
- Establish and enforce protocols for client safety and staff wellness, particularly in high-risk areas such as the detox center.
Staff Supervision and Development:
- Assist in supervision of program managers, coordinators, and other key staff, providing mentorship and accountability.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of staff and volunteers.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and mission alignment across all programs.
Collaboration and Support:
- Act as a key liaison between the ED and program teams, ensuring smooth communication and alignment of priorities.
- Collaborate with the ED on strategic initiatives, budget planning, and organizational development.
- Provide operational insights and recommendations to the ED to guide decision-making and resource allocation.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure all programs meet regulatory and accreditation requirements, particularly for detox and recovery services.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for the ED, funders, and regulatory agencies as required.
**Qualifications**:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, healthcare administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred) OR equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management or operations within a nonprofit, ministry, or social services setting.
- Proven experience in leading teams, managing complex programs, and driving operational excellence.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Knowledge of addiction recovery programs, homelessness services, or similar fields is a strong asset.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, clients, and partners.
- Financial literacy and experience with budget management and resource allocation.
- Proficient in using technology and systems for program management and reporting.
