Job Summary:
The Regional Aggregates Manager is responsible for the overall business performance of the aggregates vertical within the designated region. This role involves managing sales, customer relationships, and financial performance, while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Role Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to ensure the consistent operation of the facilities at the lowest possible cost in a safe and efficient manner. The Regional Manager will also lead and supervise the employees based at the various pits and quarries, ensuring produced material meets the necessary specifications and production quantities and qualities are met for internal as well as external customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective business strategies for the aggregates vertical that align with the company’s overall objectives.
- Oversee sales and distribution of aggregate materials across BC South.
- Manage P&L for the region, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including environmental permits and safety protocols.
- Report directly to the General Manager (GM), providing regular updates and strategic insights on business.
- Drive sales initiatives to acquire new customers and maintain relationships with existing customers.
- Manage Dispatch operations to ensure efficient execution of orders.
- Responsible for business growth and achieving target objectives.
- Conduct monthly billing and tracking to monitor financial health.
- Manage Trucking and Scaling operations to optimize logistics and material handling.
- Responsible for the overall business performance in the area.
- Ensure that Dispatch reports to this position, streamlining communication and order fulfillment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the mining or aggregates industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and business growth.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other mining software.
- Willingness to travel within the region and to corporate headquarters as needed
