The Safety and Family Partnership Coordinator will contribute to the development, implementation, evaluation and on-going coordination of activities related to projects stemming from CHEO’s membership in the Solutions for Patient Safety network.
The Safety and Family Partnership Coordinator will contribute to the organization and implementation of patient safety initiatives, provide support in policy and procedure writing, participate and implement root cause analyses as well as develop and monitor recommendations from these reviews. They will also support corporate Accreditation planning and activities.
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Support projects stemming from CHEO’s membership in the Solutions for Patient Safety Network
- Develop project schedules including identifying activities to produce project deliverables, identifying dependencies, number of work periods, analyzing activity sequences, activity durations, and resource requirements.
- Lead the integration and coordination of all projects to create consistent, coherent documentation used to guide both project execution and project control.
- Determine the information and communications needed by the stakeholders and ensure needed information is available to project stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Collect and disseminate project documentation (e.g. status reporting, progress measurement, and forecasting).
- Assess and implement risk analysis activities and mitigation strategies for the project.
- Help coordinate follow up and reviews of safety incidents; coordinate Root Cause Analysis and development of recommendations.
- Develop and implement education materials related to Safety.
- Support Accreditation preparation, planning and evaluation(s).
- Work with CHEO’s Safety Reporting Solutions system to analyze and distribute Safety data as appropriate.
- Assist with the preparation of meeting’s overseen by Safety & Family Partnership (Quality of Care, Quality & Safety of the Board).
- Ensure that team members perform work in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all CHEO Corporate/Departmental policies and procedures. Ensure that appropriate action is recommended for those team members who do not work in compliance with the Act.
- Provide support to Manager/Director as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree in Health or Business Administration or related field (Essential)
- Master’s Degree in Health or Business Administration or related field (preferred)
- Minimum three (3) years of Project Coordination/Management experience (Essential)
- Project Management Certification (preferred)
- Strong communication skills - both orally and in writing (English Essential, French Asset) (Essential
- Computer literacy with project software (i.e. Microsoft Project) (Essential)
- Self-directed with the advanced ability to plan, organize and prioritize projects according to priority, and ability to ask questions and to identify difficulties in meeting deadlines (Essential)
- Criminal Record Check (Level 1) (Essential)
- Bilingualism - French/English (preferred)
- Experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for stipulated academic/experience requirements

La coordonnatrice ou le coordonnateur, Sécurité et partenariats avec les familles, contribuera à l’organisation et à la mise en œuvre d’initiatives liées à la sécurité des patients, fournira du soutien pour la rédaction de politiques et de procédures, participera aux analyses des causes fondamentales et les mettra en œuvre ainsi qu’à l’élaboration et au suivi des recommandations découlant de ces examens. La personne retenue appuiera également la planification et les activités d’accréditation de l’entreprise.
**PRINCIPALES RESPONSABILITÉS**
- Soutenir les projets découlant de l’adhésion du CHEO au réseau Solutions pour la sécurité des patients
- Élaborer des calendriers de projet, notamment définir les activités pour produire les livrables du projet, déterminer les dépendances, établir le nombre de périodes de travail, et analyser les séquences d’activités, la durée des activités et les besoins en ressources.
- Diriger l’intégration et la coordination de tous les projets dans le but de créer de la documentation cohérente qui servira à guider à la fois l’exécution de projet et le contrôle de projet.
- Déterminer l’information et les communications nécessaires pour les intervenants du projet et veiller à ce que l’information dont ces derniers ont besoin leur soit accessible en temps opportun.
