McDonald Brothers Construction Inc. (MBC) has an immediate opening for a Health and Safety Coordinator.

As a leading progressive general contractor in the Institutional, Commercial and Industrial (ICI) sector for 35 years, we build and train high performance teams to successfully deliver some of the most exceptional community building projects in the Ottawa area and beyond.

Our health and safety coordinator will be instrumental in helping us improve and manage our health and safety program and culture here at MBC as we continue our path to achieving COR-2020 certification.

**Duties will include**:

- Understanding, implementing and enforcing MBC's health and safety program across our various construction sites.
- Using MBC's health and safety management systems to promote worker safety and well-being.
- Perform regular site visits to our various construction sites to complete routine risk and safety assessments, site inspections, hazard monitoring and safe work plans.
- Conduct health and safety orientations for new hires and subcontractors.
- Assist in the development of site specific safety plans for our construction projects.
- Assist with accident, injury or other investigations as needed.
- Report findings to Senior Management to help improve and manage our program.
- Support other various health and safety program initiatives as required.
- Have an educational or work experience background in construction health and safety.
- Have an intimate knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
- Be highly organized with an ability to use our digital apps and tools to record and report safety metrics to management.
- Be a self-starter who will take initiative in identifying potential health and safety concerns and addressing them with management.
- Be an excellent communicator, able to be firm but respectful with staff and subcontractors regarding the knowledge and enforcement of safety policies.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $55,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
