Maintenance Manager

**Job purpose**
Responsible for integration and training staff and ensuring the smooth running of upkeep or repair operations.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
The associate’s primary functions and responsibilities are as follows:
- Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.
- Be responsible for the performance of the maintenance department through work order and PM completion rates and OEE for plant
- Work effectively with planning team to ensure completion of PM and work orders in a timely fashion.
- Be responsible for the development and coaching of all staff members reporting into the maintenance structure.
- Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work.
- Compile equipment information into a job package that is ready for technicians to accomplish each shift; clearly communicate the critical steps in the work process.
- Analyze equipment downtime data and develop & manage a warranty process that will drive to lower costs.
- Enforce and champion health and safety procedures and policies.
- Hiring of all staff members reporting into the maintenance structure.
- Understand and maintain industry-leading food safety standards in accordance with BRC and customer specific standards.
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
- Identify specific safety hazards associated with planned maintenance activities.
- Evaluate 24 hours plant performance through daily 24-hour analytics meeting.
- Provide detailed observations and/or corrective actions to sub-standard performance situations outlined in these meetings.
- Work closely with the leadership team to set and achieve company priorities.
- Promote and encourage the company’s mission, vision and culture of training.
- Review, measure, report effectiveness of training through analytical performance of each subordinate.
- Manage the cleanliness of the maintenance shops and parts rooms.
- Responsible for daily management and support for the team to achieve operational success.
- Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with Company Procedures.
- Approve the vacation requests.
- Carry out incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure.
- Issue disciplinary action when needed.
- Perform other assigned duties.
- Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
- Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
**Qualifications**
- Proven experience as maintenance manager or another managerial role
- Experience in planning maintenance operations
- Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
- Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment
- Ability to keep track of and report on activity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent; Degree from a vocational school or BSc/BA in business administration or facility management will be an advantage.
- Valid Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) will be a plus.
- Ability to work with and influence others in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong oral and written communication.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
