**Job Purpose**:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the leadership and motivation of the Maintenance Department. This would include first-line supervision coaching and mentoring, technical assistance, and training where applicable to all maintenance employees. The main task is providing technical and supervisory direction to the maintenance team to ensure that all downtime is accounted for and issues are investigated and resolved as quickly as possible.

Direct supervision of: Maintenance shift supervisor, MRO Buyer, and the Maintenance Planner. Indirect supervision of: hourly skilled trades.
Attend shift hand-off meetings across all shifts with production & maintenance supervisor.
Capture shift downtime by completing daily downtime reporting, Emaint records, and shift escalation reporting.
“Boots to the floor” presence observing and providing support as required to the shift supervisor and hourly maintenance millwrights and tool makers
Ensure timely response to any downtime issues across all shifts.
Analyze downtime data to understand root causes and implement counter measures
Drives the maintenance and reliability initiatives focused on preventative and predictive maintenance, not reactive.
Review changeovers and assist in troubleshooting
Responsibility for major downtime issues after hours
Responsible for all contractors as it relates to maintenance, this would include overall equipment maintenance, and grounds and facilities
Oversee MRO Buyer/Planning Activities such as: critical spare part inventory, maintenance parts ordering, tool crib, third party vendors, PMs.
Responsible to fully understand and adhere to maintenance budget.
Responsible for scheduling line access to ensure equipment repairs are done in a timely manner
Responsible for the planning and execution of maintenance shutdown activities.
Training - assist in providing training where relevant and necessary
Responsible for timely closure of open actions on the Dana accountability board
Work with Engineering Team hand in hand in regards to tooling, controls, and process issues.
Help support introduction of new technology
Ensure policies and procedures in regards to the Maintenance Department are well communicated and maintained to continue to meet IATF, ISO45001, ISO14001 certification requirements.
Coach and mentor direct reports as required - “Lead your team”.
Responsible for Staffing requirements, performance appraisals, and Talent Management within the Maintenance Department.
Issue discipline as required.
Ensure safety policies and procedures are being followed at all times.
Conduct LPA and Support plant safety objectives and those of the CFT (Cross Functional Team) by participating in monthly Safety-First audits and JHSC meetings
Other duties as required by your supervisor.
Education and Qualifications
Post-secondary Education in a related field (Industrial Millwright) preferred.
Ability to perform under pressure and in a fast paced environment
Previous Experience in a manager capacity
Conviction to improve personally and support continuous improvement
Demonstrated commitment to Health & Safety
Ability to be on-call for off shift emergencies
