Pest Management Coordinator

We're looking for a Pest Control Coordinator to help maintain the quality of our buildings and ensure healthy and hygienic homes for our residents. They will assume the responsibility of scheduling pest inspections and treatments, perforning tenant outreach and collaborating with Accora Village staff, community support services, and contractors as needed to ensure extermination efforts are effective and efficient. They will also administer the integrated pest management approach and conduct inspection visits and track & analyze pest control activities across Accora Village’s portfolio with the objective of sustaining, and improving, treatment strategies.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
1. Pest Management

The Pest Management Coordinator supports our Integrated Pest Management program and organizes pest control efforts within Accora Village by:

- Working with internal and external stakeholders in the prevention and resolution of pest issues
- Coordinating & scheduling inspection and treatment appointments.
- Advising residents of preparation and prevention techniques through written and oral communication
- Working with vulnerable populations to ensure their needs are met
- Following up with all involved parties during the extermination process, from initial inspection to confirmed resolution.
- Keeping detailed records of all appointments and tenant communications.
- Ability to adapt quickly by cancelling or rescheduling appointments on very short notice and informing contractors and tenants of any changes.

2. Customer Service

The Pest Management Coordinator ensures a high level of resident satisfaction through:

- Constant and consistent attention to customer service
- Executing proactive approaches to connecting with the resident
- Working with all departments to ensure the prevention and resolution of pest issues
- Liaising with contractors regarding needs required in residents’ homes, to ensure
- successful treatments.
- Keeping staff, contractors, tenants, and other stakeholders apprised of ongoing pest issues
- Conducting inspections and investigations as needed to identify problem areas and determine root causes for infestations
- Working with exterminators to develop and implement viable containment & elimination strategies
- Creating and maintaining statistics related to Accora Village’s pest control activities.
- Collecting, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting customer satisfaction data/KPI’s related to pest management issues
- Other tasks and duties may be assigned as required

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with the public (essential)
- Exemplary verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Superior customer service and negotiation skills
- As a condition of employment, must have a valid Criminal Background Check.
- While not required, a working knowledge of Yardi software would be considered a strong asset
- Unless an accommodation under Ontario’s Humans Rights Code is applicable, it is a requirement of the company that all eligible employees are and will remain fully vaccinated against COVID-19
- Understanding of current property management legal and regulatory practices
- A working vehicle and class “G” Ontario Driver’s License are a requirement
- Proficiency with Yardi, Excel and MS Office software.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Extended periods at a computer may be required at times
- Working in a busy office environment with frequent interruptions
- Occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines
- Competing demands may create stress
- Physical effort is mínimal
- Travel is mínimal, but may be required to attend special events
- Possible exposure to pest-control related chemicals
- Occasional lifting and carrying tools or equipment up to 50 pounds may be required
- Frequent travel between buildings to visit properties and inspect equipment
