Edmonton, Canada Special Metal Fabricating Ltd. Full time

The Brake Operator is responsible for CNC braking/forming, shear, and PEM insertion.

**Qualifications**
- 2 - 5 years experience in a similar role
- Experience in a fabrication environment
- General knowledge of tools, concepts, and methodologies of quality assurance

**Responsibilities**
- Read and interpret work orders to determine which tasks are done and which ones still need to be completed
- Read and interpret drawings and work orders to determine important information critical to the task being performed (such as material, quantity, specific instructions, etc.)
- Set up and operate CNC brake presses and rollers.
- Set up, operate, and/or tend machines, such as shears, saws, sheet rolls, drills, CNC punch, to cut, bend, roll, drill.
- Transport raw materials and finished metal products by manually moving parts around the shop either by hand, cart, or forklift
- Clean work area
- Clean or lubricate equipment and replace parts as required
- Troubleshoot and perform corrective action or minor repairs
- Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards
- Count finished products to determine if product orders are complete

**Work Conditions**

The following is a list of physical work requirements and work conditions for this position:

- This position requires individuals who must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- The role is located in a shop environment where physical maneuverability is a must
- This position is moderate to high risk with mandatory safety requirements. To perform duties in this position, individuals must be physically fit with the ability to stand for long periods of time

**Salary**: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
