**Position Summary**

The Brake and Sheer Operator is responsible for metal fabrication and will be trained on other equipment for aluminum rail fabrication. This position is best suited to very versatile people that know their way around equipment and most hand tools, can read metric and imperial tape measures, are self-starters with a can-do attitude. Must be physically fit, as the job requires many different areas to work in, and some require moving material.

- **Full-time dayshift position (Monday to Friday 7:30am-4:00pm) with overtime available.**:

- Located In Edmonton, AB.
- Overtime available as needed.

**Competencies**:

- Attention to detail and good hand eye coordination is key.
- Physically fit; able to handle weights up to 23kgs (50lbs), standing for extended periods.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written).
- Document use and numeracy.
- Strong team working skills.
- Reliable and honest.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ability to work in a Team and on own initiative.
- Ability to work safely and maintain a safe working environment.
- Read shop drawings accurately to produce material according to specifications.
- Work with various materials, but mainly aluminum.
- Operating of machines such as: Brake and Sheer, Turret Punch, Waterjet Tables, NC Pipe Bender.
- Lift aluminum railings, panels 35lbs-50lbs.
- Sanding and grinding parts.

**Requirements**:

- 2 years experience operating Brake and Sheer and other related machinery preferred.
- Show interest and willingly strive to learn new skills, take on new assignments as the workload dictates.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and operate machinery safely.
- Experience working with a bending machine, Metal Fabrication will be an asset.
- Basic understanding of aluminum and steel welding.
- Experience working with aluminum rail fabrication, metal or flashing.
- Experience using various hand tools (drills, grinders, etc.).
- Able to measure accurately in metric.
- Forklift experience an asset.

**Experience**:

- Brake Operating: 1 year (preferred)
- Sheering: 1 year (preferred)
- Aluminum or steel fabrication: 1 year (preferred)
