In order to keep up with our growth we will be seeking experienced, professional, energetic, goal-oriented individuals to complement our organization.

We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic and well experienced Payroll and General Accountant, who will oversee the day-to-day accounting of one of the companies in the group. The Accountant will be responsible for handling the fundamental aspects of the company financial recordkeeping, including recording financial transactions, managing payroll, reconciling bank statements and inter-company accounts, and perform other job related duties as requested by the management.

**Responsibilities**:
Additional duties include general ledger accounting and control, bank reconciliation, expenses and lease accounting, intercompany reconciliations, HST reporting, accruals, deposits and prepaid expenses, bank payments and check runs, support to AR and AP teams as appropriate, financial statements variance analysis, annual audit assistance, posting of routine transactions and manual journal entries to accounting system, preparation of schedules and reports to support accurate accounting balances

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting / bookkeeping (in transportation or else fast-paced industry-preferred) including 3 years of payroll and else accounting in QuickBooks Desktop/Enterprise
- An ability to work quickly and accurately
- Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
- Staff management experience and ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of discretion and tack
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (an asset)
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment
- Excellent writing and organizational skills
- Computer knowledge
