**Operating Partner - Plant-Based Café**
We are a locally owned, plant-forward café looking for an **Operating Partner** to take on a leadership role and help grow the business. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys managing a team, and is excited about the opportunity to be deeply invested in the success of a small but ambitious café.
**About the Role**
The Operating Partner is responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily operations while also thinking strategically about growth and long-term success. This is a hybrid role that blends management with hands-on work — from working the front of house and supporting the team, to driving sales and ensuring smooth operations behind the scenes.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead, manage, and motivate front and back of house staff
- Oversee hiring, training, and scheduling of team members
- Ensure excellent customer experience and service standards
- Maintain and monitor food and labor costs to meet targets
- Complete and manage ordering/inventory, including grocery lists
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure operational efficiency
- Assist in product development, promotions, and sales initiatives
- Track and report on key performance indicators
- Uphold cleanliness, safety, and health standards
- Work collaboratively with ownership on strategic goals, with opportunity to contribute ideas and initiatives for growth
**Hours & Schedule**
- Full-time, 30-40 hours per week
- Shifts fall between 7:45 am-5:00 pm weekdays, plus one weekend day (10:00 am-3:00 pm)
- Flexibility is important as needs may vary
**What We’re Looking For**
- Previous café, restaurant, or retail management experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to balance hands-on work with strategic management
- Financial acumen (understanding of cost control, budgets, sales targets)
- A problem-solver with initiative and attention to detail
- Passion for healthy food and a positive customer experience
- Interest in long-term growth and investment in the business
**Compensation**
- Competitive hourly wage

Pay: $18.00-$27.26 per hour
