**A Day in The Life**:
Every day is different Accounting Technician will find themselves completing a number of monthly and weekly tasks each day Some of which include:
- Assist with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable for assigned properties and/or portfolios.
- Assist with reviewing rent roll, tenant ledgers and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy of revenue and collections.
- Ensure accurate coding of invoices, expense tracking, preparation of bi-monthly vendor payments, and creation of cheque log reports.
- Develop working relationships with various team members including but not limited to property managers, accounting managers, resident services, general managers and clients.
- Assisting and communicating effectively with internal and external auditors.
- Monthly, Quarterly and Annual variance analysis and account and bank reconciliations.
- Assist with monthly reporting packages to owners
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets as well as analyze them.
- Scanning, uploading, and filing invoices.
- Printing and mailing out cheques.
- Always represent the company’s best interest, maintaining a positive and professional demeanour, adhering to Core Values and Behaviours.
- Work as part of a team and take direction.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Controller
**Skills and Requirements**:
- Degree or Diploma in Accounting or Finance is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Highly motivated, self-driven, flexible, and organized.
- This role will require in-office work hours
- Ability to solve problems and think outside the box.
- Strong communicator with an ability to work independently or in a team atmosphere.
