**Carling Motors** is looking for an Automotive Damage Appraiser to join our team in a well-established Collision Center, reporting directly to the Collision Center Manager. The appraiser is responsible for greeting customers, accurately and completely assessing the damage to vehicles, and documenting the needed repairs and parts replacement on the damage appraisal. In addition, the appraiser must handle communications with insurance adjusters and customers throughout the repair process maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

**Job Duties**:

- Vehicle Inspection:

- Thoroughly inspect damaged vehicles to assess the extent of the damage.
- Identify and document all visible and hidden damages.
- Estimation of Repair Costs:

- Calculate the cost of parts, labor, and materials required for repairs.
- Utilize industry-standard estimating software and guidelines to determine repair costs.
- Provide accurate and detailed repair estimates to insurance companies, repair shops, or vehicle owners.
- Communication:

- Communicate with insurance adjusters, vehicle owners, and repair shop personnel to discuss the assessment and repair process.
- Explain the estimated costs, repair procedures, and timeframes.
- Documentation:

- Prepare detailed and comprehensive damage reports, including photographs and written descriptions of the damage.
- Document pre-existing conditions and provide evidence to support the assessment.
- Negotiation:

- Negotiate repair costs with insurance adjusters, ensuring fair and accurate compensation for the required repairs.
- Address any discrepancies between the appraiser's estimate and the insurance company's assessment.
- Customer Service:

- Provide excellent customer service by addressing concerns and answering questions from vehicle owners.
- Keep customers informed about the repair process and any changes to the initial estimate.
- Technical Knowledge:

- Stay updated on industry standards, repair techniques, and new vehicle technologies.
- Understand the structural, mechanical, and cosmetic aspects of various vehicle makes and models.
- Time Management:

- Manage multiple appraisals efficiently and meet deadlines for providing estimates.
- Prioritize tasks based on the urgency and complexity of each appraisal.
- Continuous Learning:

- Stay informed about advancements in auto repair technology, materials, and processes through ongoing training and professional development.

**Skill Requirements**
- Prior experience as a collision estimator or insurance appraiser.
- Prior damage analysis experience.
- Excellent knowledge of Mitchell Connect and Audatex software.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong sales and negotiation skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
