Reporting to and working closely with the Deputy Provost, the Coordinator, Faculty Leadership and Development will help develop, implement, oversee, and evaluate a wide range of faculty leadership and development programs designed to support and improve McMaster University's organizational performance. The incumbent will provide support to operational leadership for faculty development, leadership, and engagement initiatives in support of the Office of the Provost and the academic mission.

The Coordinator will be a first-line resource for support and information for staff or faculty. They will help establish and maintain mutually beneficial professional relationships, sharing best practices and resources as part of this community of practice.

They will help to enrich, broaden, and support a comprehensive program for faculty professional development directed at each stage of their career: pre-tenure/pre-permanence; mid-career; and approaching retirement, and help define and develop academic success and pathways for faculty achievement in leadership. The Coordinator will help to coordinate and deliver various forms of support, ranging from highly tailored workshops to peer-mentoring programs to shadowing opportunities in the interests of administrative succession planning, research, and networking.

The Coordinator will also provide Administrative support to the Professor Hippo-on-Campus program and will collaborate with staff in Faculty Relations to help facilitate retention efforts and champion initiatives such as spousal hiring, support and mentorship for visible minorities and marginalized groups.

Bachelor's degree with postgraduate degree preferred. Experience facilitating diverse group events, preferably in a University setting and event planning experience will be a definite asset.
