Latcon (2009) Ltd. has been the premiere demolition company in the National Capital region for over thirty years. We have partnered with many local construction and engineering firms to provide demolition services as a sub-contractor.
At Latcon, we pride ourselves on our record of safety, the quality of our work and our level of service. As Payroll Administrator, you will be part of a team and work with other employees in the organization to support inquiries.
In this role, the Payroll Administrator will be responsible for processing and maintaining the weekly and bi-weekly unionized/non-union payroll. This individual will be expected to provide reports, process all hours of work and related time records, maintaining payroll control records and calculating payroll in an accurate and timely manner.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Manage weekly and bi-weekly disbursement of hourly and salary payroll, including garnishments, benefits, and source deductions for all employees, according to their collective agreements.
- Ensure the processing of new hires and terminations is accurate and timely.
- Responsible for preparation/processing of all tax filings and employment reporting.
- Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.).
- Prepare union remittances and required reporting.
- Prepare and file all government remittances relevant to payroll and provide reports as necessary.
- Issue Record of Employment (ROE).
- Assist with Accounts Payables & Accounts Receivables.
- Perform other financial and office duties as required.
**Qualifications**:
- Bilingual in French and English is preferred.
- Experience in a union environment is considered an asset.
- Post-secondary education with a focus on Business Administration, Accounting, or industry experience equivalent.
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- Jonus software considered an asset.
- Organizational Skills: Gather data from multiple sources and pay scales. Keeping it all organized is important.
- Excellent skills using MS Word, Excel, Google Docs.
- Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll system.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
- Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
- Exceptional analytical and verbal/written communication skills required.
- The ability to complete time sensitive assignments accurately and confidentially.
