53 North Collection is looking for an exciting & enthusiastic individual to join our sales team for three independent, boutique properties in Edmonton

The Sales Manager will be responsible for increasing room revenue by prospecting national and local sales markets, as well as build new accounts to ensure all revenue goals are achieved and/or exceeded. This position will ensure a positive overall impression of the property as well as assist with all aspects of sales and marketing. This position requires a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Hours of work will fluctuate depending on business levels.

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**:

- Consistently performs the Hotel’s Company Standards of Service; interact with guests, all hotel associates in a professional, gracious and friendly manner and ensures staff does the same.
- Solicits past and new business to ensure all revenue goals in guest rooms are achieved and exceeded through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspection and written communication.
- Manages accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and productivity.
- Develops and maintains knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.
- Actively prospecting to ensure quarterly targets are met.
- Prepares correspondence to guests, internal bookings reports and file maintenance.
- Participates in the daily line-up, pre-convention meetings, and other sales related meetings as required.
- Attends trade shows, community events and industry meetings; also participates in sales blitzes to develop business.
- Assists with the day-to-day functions of Sales & Catering Office.
- Works effectively with Rooms, Catering, Conference Services and Banquet Departments to provide quality service to guests.
- Achieves and exceeds monthly and annual rooms revenue quota within assigned market segments.
- Familiar with all aspects of the Health & Safety program including health & safety responsibilities.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum 2 years sales management experience required, business transient experience would be considered an asset
- Post-Secondary education or Hospitality education required
- Strong communications skills are essential
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Previous experience with Opera Property Management System an asset
- Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
- Must be completely familiar with the role during hotel emergencies, including fire alarms, medical emergencies, the use of Incident Reports and Logbooks.
- Fluent in English (written and oral).
- Must be able to work varied shift work, including weekends and holidays.

**ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Security clearance required upon offer of employment.
- Possess sensational customer service philosophy and a self-starting personality with an even disposition.
- Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
- Can communicate well with guests.
- Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.
- Highly organized, results oriented and ability to work in a multi-functional team environment.
