Reporting to the Senior Director of Organizational & Human Resources, the **Human Resources Manager **will be responsible for:

- Supervision of the Human Resources (HR) team comprised of five team members.
- Providing HR advice and support to Managers and Supervisors, balancing varied needs.
- Updating related HR policies, along with guiding HR practices that are used day-to-day.
- Utilizing conflict resolution skills and leading mediation processes, when required.
- Carrying-out investigations when the need arises, acting within employment law, and making balanced and reasonable recommendations upon conclusion.
- Monitoring compliance with Workplace Safety and Health regulations, and with the HR & Safety Advisor, collaborating with service areas to implement progressive safety programs.
- Working with the Senior Director to update the current performance management system and, following the project, monitoring the system to ensure it is maintained.
- Liaising with Payroll to reconcile employee data and provide input on joint processes.
- Reporting and utilizing data on internal HR trends to make informed decisions, providing reports in an accessible and understandable manner to Managers and Senior Leadership.
- Monitoring a modest budget, working within the guidelines and processes from the financial team.

This position requires collaboration within the Organizational & Human Resources team, as well as with the Central Support Services team, for both day-to-day operations and project work. The HR Manager also will be a member of New Directions’ Agency Management Team and will need to work in manner that aligns with New Directions’ values. The HR Manager may be required to act on behalf of the Senior Director in their absence. _This position is based in Winnipeg, with a hybrid work option available. Travel to other locations in southern Manitoba may be required for staffing matters and organizational events._
- A degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related field, with a CPHR designation considered an asset.
- Minimum of five years of experience in Human Resources, including responsibilities at an advisory or generalist level.
- Minimum of three years of experience in a management role, Human Resources preferred, with a proven track record of implementing business solutions and best practices.
- In-depth knowledge of current HR practices and systems, along with relevant legislation.
- Proven ability to foster effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated expertise in coaching and advising managers and supervisors, and the ability to problem solve and maintain a positive outlook.
- Experience implementing employee development and performance management systems.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Established organizational skills and attention to detail, with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the flexibility to balance multiple stakeholders' needs,
- A demonstrated awareness and appreciation of diverse cultures and traditions.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office 365 products (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and hands-on experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
- _Knowledge of American Sign Language is considered an asset._
