**Job Summary**:
Staffing and Recruitment
- In support of the Assistant, Superintendent, Human Resources, assists with staffing needs for the teaching staff and develops and implements related strategies to attract and retain talent.
- Supports the recruitment of select positions by developing recruitment plans, establishing selection criteria, and ensuring policy and collective agreement compliance.

Employee and Labour Relations
- Partners with divisional leaders to resolve human resources issues and labour relations concerns, providing guidance and developing appropriate solutions and strategies.
- Advises and assists administration and employees with interpretation and administration of the teachers’ collective agreements and organizational policies.
- Provides support regarding grievance and dispute resolution, and conducts investigations as required.
- Develops and maintains positive working relationships with union representatives; coordinates and attends joint labour management meetings.
- Provides advice and guidance with respect to leave requests (family, medical, etc.) and requests for accommodation.
- Provides input into the development of internal HR policy and procedures.

Training and Development
- Supports priority HR training and development initiatives in areas such as inclusion and diversity and leadership development.
- Implements and sources training and professional development and information sessions for employees.
- Supports the divisional onboarding program for teachers.

Leadership
- Provides training, guidance and coaching to HR team members in a distributed team model
- Stays abreast of employment legislation changes and current issues in human resources

**Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities**:
**Qualifications**:

- Experience working in the education sector or public sector is an asset
- A related university degree or a certificate in Human Resources Management and a formal HR designation (CPHR) or progressing towards such designation
- Experience acting as an advisor to leaders and providing sensitive and strategic HR advice
- Experience working in a unionized environment, including collective agreement interpretation, conducting investigations, and grievance handling
- Experience leading staffing and recruitment, including identifying staffing needs, developing related strategies to attract and retain talent, and personally leading the end-to-end recruitment of select positions.
- Proven experience successfully leading HR projects and initiatives
- Formal training on investigations and grievance management is an asset
- Experience coaching and mentoring junior HR staff is an asset
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems and developing Training programs is an asset

- Ability to coach and mentor HR team members
- Knowledgeable in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion as part of recruitment and retention strategies
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and experience working with an HRIS and generating/analyzing reports.
