**ROLE SUMMARY**

This role reports directly to the Superintendent when project assigned and reports to the Technical Services Manager in between projects. The project will be in South Vancouver for 3 years and after relocated to another project or servicing multiple projects.

**MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY**

**1.**Quality Assurance and Control Oversight**:

- Collaborate with project team to develop and maintain comprehensive quality plans.
- Implement the Quality Management System for the various disciplines on our construction project.
- Disciplines such as ground improvements (Rigid inclusions, pipe and sheet piles, utilities), form work and concrete, substructure, superstructure, building envelope, mechanical, electrical, controls and finishings.
- Review quality specifications and technical design documents
- Review subtrade Method Statements and Inspection Test Plans
- Ensure Subcontractor’s Quality Control Plans is in place prior to starting construction.
- Conduct and document inspections of Subcontractors’ work to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with project teams to address and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
- Provide recommendations for enhancements to construction processes that contribute to overall project quality without affecting schedule.

**2.**Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain detailed records of quality control activities, including inspection reports, test reports and non-conformance reports.
- Coordinate and participate in internal and external site audits.
- Spearhead and monitor all consultant inspections, NCR’s and ensure proper closeout.

**3.**Interaction**:

- Serve as a point of contact for quality-related inquiries from project team, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Foster positive relationships with Subcontractors, clients, and project team by demonstrating a commitment to delivering high-quality construction projects.

**4.**Process Improvement**:

- Identify opportunities for process improvement in quality and implement best practices.
- Document lessons learned and contribute to the continuous improvement of quality management process.

**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES**
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural/Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality coordination with a focus on commercial and institutional construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills and ability
- Ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide practical solutions.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards. (NBC, CSA, ASME)
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Exceptional communicational and conflict resolution skills.
